"Suburban Living in an Idyllic Area"
Saratoga Avenue is the gateway to Big Basin Road - almost like a "last supper" before you get into the more remote redwoods. It is a cute little suburban road in a town that is extremely manageable, but extremely accessible to San Francisco, the beach, and the hills. This is also sort of a last stop for hikers looking for water, snacks, or fuel.
Believe it or not, there is actually a relatively robust public bus system for such a small town. Schools and shops abound (the Westgate Shopping Center is right there, for one), and the lawns are quaint and well-manicured.
If you have money and the desire to live in a relatively low-key suburb of a highly populated and desirable area, then this is definitely not a bad choice.
