"Art school and BBQ"
The Petit Salon & Art Gallery. The salon is an intimate art school with hands on instruction. The art in the gallery changes as it is by students and the instructor and are for sale too.
There are several small marks in the area to enjoy and at the end of the street is a nice bar b q on the corner of Goldfinch. It’s great basic BBQ food and popular. Very busy at lunch.

"Sea port village and art gallery"
Whitt Krauss Objects Fine Art Gallery is fantastic. They have great art by many talented artists both big and small. Great for just enjoying the great art or to buy some too.
There is also Seaport Village which has a few shops and Harbor House sea food restaurant. The food is good but not great and the quality seems better some days than others. If you are picky about your sea food this isn’t the best place to go but it will do.

"A spot of art to enjoy"
Art Expressions is a nice little gallery with contemporary paintings. Many water colors. There are also some great framed photographs on display. The prices should you want to buy are not too bad either. The selection changes regularly and always features several artists. They regularly have special events and themes to their art shows.

"Old town and Plaza del Pasado"
Old town is a great place to take photos and just enjoy the view of some historic buildings and the feel of simpler times. the plaza has some nice art shops one especially stands out and deserves a visit. It features the art of RD Riccoboni who does wonderful paintings focusing on the area both old and new. There is also a nice wine place at the plaza that I enjoyed.

"Junipero Serra Museum and Presidio park"
The park is home to an old mission which houses the museum inside. The mission and tower can make some nice photos and views of the valley and ocean. You are also allowed up in the tower for photos with a view. The museum covers Native American history and the early European settlers. The museum has old items such as settlement tools, art and furniture. Some times they offer free tours.

This is a great place to take photos or for artists to get inspiration, with subjects like the lighthouse and views of the bay and coast line. If you are into the little critters you will like to tidal pools and may see a sea lion or two in the surf sometimes. the museum costs a bit but is nice ahd provides some good information on the area.

"Japaese gardens and and air museum"
While not my usual choice of museum I do like on occasion to see all vehicles and the air and Space museum as lots of old planes to look at. It's more of a one time visit place for me except that it's near the Japanese Friendship gardens and is worth a look now and then if you are in the area. The cover the history of flight by mankind. The gift shop has a few interesting items as well.
the friendship gardens are fairly small but there is a lot of wild land you may enjoy as well. There are cherry trees as well as an herb and tea garden. There is a lovely pond and you may see some artists there painting sometimes. There is also the traditional sand style gardens with stones and they do serve some food.

"The Spanish village"
The art glass guild is a store but you could call it a gallery of glass art. All pieces are made of glass. I love art but especially am fond of glass art. I even had a glass tamandua figurine of my own that was hand blown.
There is more to the Spanish village art center. It is a collection of historic little Spanish houses(casitas). Each one has a different art shop in it with a different specialty like pottery or oil paintings. You can often find an artist busily working on a fresh piece of art. With the nice garden it is also a lovely spot for taking photos.

"Balboa Park and the hunted trail"
This is a great place to take photos and enjoy some peace and quite and great buildings. But due to the time of year am also mentioning that at Halloween they have a nice haunted trail int he park. There are different themes each year and actors playing parts to make it even better.
During the day there is the Spanish Village Art Center complete with many nice shops to bring home something special from. The museum is great and there are some things for sale there as well. The statues, fountains, Spanish architecture, and garden will give you lots of photo opportunities.
Don't forget the great restaurants to have lunch or dinner in like Prado.

"Art museum and park"
There are a few nice parks here that all run together like one big park but my main interest is the museum. It's really cool to have a nice park to relax in or have lunch near the museum and make a day of it. The San Diego museum of art is a museum for all kinds of art. I especially like it since you can view all styles of art and not just modern or classical, etc. There is a small fee to get in most days but you can get in for free on Tuesday. The art changes a few times a year. The museum is large and old and has a nice selection of Spanish paintings. The Timken Museum of Art is also on this street and has some nice contemporary art but is much smaller. Almost forgot the museum of man, which is all about mankind and the photography museum for a different form of art.

"Asian food and a place to stay"
Sushi Tango, got to love the name. Maybe not the best sushi in town but it is still very good. The fish is fresh and the portions fair. Service is friendly and the place clean. I like the art it’s better than having plain walls like some. It’s a small place so can get crowded quickly.
The Good Nite Inn is next to Mc Donald’s and has a fridge so is a good spot to stay since is near the freeway too. Go to Coffee Plus in the mornings for a good pick me up.
Maple Chinese Restaurant and the Korean Kitchen are also here with great Asian food. They both have great food KK is family owned and operated and I think a bit better but we’re compairing two different kinds of food here too.

"Great lunch to go"
Extreme Pita has great pita sandwiches. A great place to get lunch to go or they deliver and that is even better. They even have online ordering so you can go read all the great foods they have for yourself. I love a simple pita chicken myself. The people are nice when you go in and when you order delivery it is always fast and the meat still hot and the lettuce cold and crisp.
There’s a designer shop to get upscale looking purses and wallets. A great place to get gifts.
There’s the sharks store to get sports stuff but mainly the Sharks stuff.

"Great Japanese food at it's best"
Aside from a few schools and Taco Bell which is nice for late night snacks this is home to Yuki Japanese Restaurant. They have great sushi that is some of the best in the area. There is nothins special about the décor but the waiters are great and attentive. The hamachi is defiantly worth the price. The servings are big and the fish is always fresh and tasty. It can get crowded sometimes but that’s just because it’s so good. It’s owned and run by a nice older man.

"Claim Jumper's BBQ"
I love Claim Jumpers food. It’s the best. They have huge portions and the best BBQ and garlic mashed potatoes. You will stuff yourself here. The service is good and it’s a family restaurant. If you have room they have great deserts too. Recommend the bar b que ribs and potatoes or the hot wings.
There is an in-n-out burger not to far away which has a great local rep and the food is good but for a sit down meal still recommend Claim Jumpers. Ther are also Cost co and Lowe’s for all the basic home needs so you could shop then go have a meal or vice versa.

"Gifts for loved ones"
To fit in with the Cemetery and cancer centers the name Kate's Caring Gifts work well but she has gifts for all occasions. She has great world coffees and teas. I love the different chocolates she has. She has some great smelling body wash and other care products. She also has nice earth friendly toys. You can order gifts and have them sent to the recipient for you.
The Domino’s pizza is as good as any other. Most of the food in the area is fast food. Otherwise the street is the school and some homes and the cancer center. It does look like a nice neighborhood and the highschool is called the hornets.

"Chinese and Thai at it's best."
Sala Thai Restaurant is in between the hospital and Fudena Stadium. They have great Thai food and great service. They are always busy and have won an award. It’s not as spicy as other Thai places but it all depends on your tastes and what you are in the mood for.
China Chili is a good date spot as the place is kept nice and elegant with cloth table clothes. They have great food and great service. They have Chinese food that differs from most local restaurants. They have some dishes better known in other parts of the country. A great dining experience.

The Wendy’s here is pretty good. There are a lot of apartments and a good chiropractor. There is also a Quiznos and little Caesars pizza.
The Classic Diner is a 50’s dinner it’s just off the street on freemont actually as the address. Breakfast lunch and dinner. They have great meals and shakes. The people are friendly and it is always a fun time. It can be crowded sometimes, especially in the summer when they have car shows but it is fun to go see the old cars then have a bite of food in the old time dinner and just kick back.

"Thai and Pho food"
Cracker Barrel Deli is near the hospital and Plaza. It is not The Cracker Barrel chain but a Thai restaurant. Anything curry is good and the Turkey berry is a nice surprise even though it sounds odd. They do have sandwiches too. The service is fast and friendly and the place clean.
Pho Kim Long is another great place to eat. The food is great but the place is small and it could be kept a little nicer some days. It is worth it thought if you want to try something new and tasty.
Otherwise there are several nursing homes along this street, probably due to being near the hospital.

"Seafood movies and icecream"
The olive garden is here and you can never go wrong with that chain, good food and service and décor.
Market Broiler is near Azeveda park. It is good seafood in a relaxed environment where you can watch the chefs cook. It’s kid friendly and the staff is attentive.
The station is a skate shop and seems to always be busy. The Applebee’s here is not so good as most.
The movie theater is not the greatest but I like it because less people go there so you can watch most movie’s in peace. I like not having to listen to wild kids or people talking during the film.
The Italian ice cream place is great for a treat.

"Train museum and ride"
Niles Canyon Railway Museum is great for train or history enthusiasts. You can even ride one of the trains for an hour round trip to see what it was like to travel on one of those old trains and see some scenery. It’s like stepping into the old west. They run everything like it was run in the old days so it’s a steam engine and the depot is old and looks like it’s from the old west as well. It’s a lot of fun and a great way for kids to learn about the past and the importance of the railways.

Peninsula Jewish Community Center is a great place for all. No you do not have to be Jewish. They have a nice pools both inside and out. They host classes like pottery and they have gym. There are also preschool and kids activities. There is also a play ground. They have water aerobics in class form.
Other than that there’s chains food like round table and chipotle.
But there is one good restaurant hiding there, Tai Wu. Great food, good prices, and great service. This is Chinese food. The waiters are regular so if you come often get to know them a little. They serve you quickly and are attentive.

"Skating, lunch, dinner and drinks"
B J's Restaurant & Brewery is a busy place but a good one. A nice place to grab a bite of pizza and a drink with friends so it can be a bit noisy. The bar section is nice to hang out but the pizza is great and you can choose your own toppings. Kids are allowed just not in the bar section.
There is also a ice skating rink. Always a special find in CA but it’s surprising how many I’ve come across. They keep the place nice and clean.
Mimi's Cafe is a great place for muffins and lunch. I like the salads and the sandwiches are good and the servers are always nice.

Lots of doctors and dentists here but there is one bright spot, Ellsworth Restaurant. This place has great food and they are very nice and attentive and catch them on the right day and you may get an extra treat. There are lots of great things on the menu and the seafood dishes are among them. The prices are a bit high but they are probably serving a lot of Drs ;) The atmosphere is nice with lighted candle in the booths. It’s a place that has been here a good long time and for good reason. A good tip is to order the tasting menu.

If you like to try new foods the Lure is the place to go. They have new things on the menu regularly. They change the menu several times a year. The waiters are great and the décor is nice kind of retro feeling. The food looks as great as it tastes. So a good date place as the food looks kind of fancy but the place isn’t too stuffy. There’s many different nationalities present on each menu incarnation, lots of fun to go back regularly.

"Two great sushi places"
Hotaru Japanese Restaurant Very busy place so try to get there early and sign in. It’s pretty small. Great sashimi and very attentive waiters. You should also try their specials. They also have a great to go lunch deal. They have great portions.
Sushi Sam's I think this is the better of the two. Simple place and décor but pleasant and clean. It’s been here a long time and deserves it’s great reputation. Prices are higher and portions smaller but the food is worth the extra expense. A favorit is the crab and the special dipping sauce. They also have great lunch boxes to take out. They tend to be busy too.

They have great collars and leashes if you want something fancy and especially love some of the great dog treats.
Okay I ate at Armadillo Willy's BBQ the first time because of the name. They have great slow cooked bar b que. I just love BBQ ribs or chicken wings with a heaping pile of mashed potatoes. I like adding extra BBQ sauce to my potatoes. This is real BBQ food cooked over flames of wood smoke for extra flavor. They also have burgers.

"Spa and body help"
There is the health center that is called Relax health. They give a nice massage and are good with muscle and tendon issues too. But if you really have problems you should check out Lotus healing. They do acupuncture and massage and have hot tea too. They also do some beauty stuff there but their main thing is being good at relieving pain with the massage and acupuncture.
If you have even bigger problems than that, especially chronic problems then you may want to try the vitality center. They have a nutritionist who can help as many problems are caused by diet. They do massage and acupuncture too. And regular spa. So a good all in one place but the others are nice for specifics or to try out.
I do like to shop at Marggie’s clothing too. Helpful people and a nice selection.

The Japanese tea garden is a must see for visitors and locals. It’s a lovely garden with a tea house in the middle where you can get green tea. There are Koi fish in the pond and some nice exotic flowers along with bamboo and other traditional Japanese garden growths. The fountain and bridge are nice touches.

Bonsai Nursery is here in a old home. The setting is nice there are a lot of trees to look at and buy. The owner is truly an expert that can help with your Bonsai or help you learn the art. It’s a worth wile little stop to see real bonsai and not those fake mall bonsais. The best trees are in back and he also does Japanese gardening. Do be patient he is very busy.
The road also runs through Carlos Bee Park. Come on the weekend when there are people there. Sometimes if the park is to quiet you may run into some iffy people. "Japaese gardens and theater"
The Douglas Morrisson Theater has an Asian look to it but is a community theater with local performers and encouraging matures and teaching kids. They will also rent out things for school plays like costumes and scenery. The Christmas show each year is a good way to end their season of plays.
It looks Asian because it’s at the Japanese Gardens. The gardens are great. Lots of ponds and little trees and some flowers. It’s truly serene. The big koi fish in the ponds are pretty and there is a waterfall. It’s great to take photos here. There are nice wooden foot bridges. It’s best on weekdays when it’s a little cold of overcast as there will be less people there and the mist adds to the atmosphere.

This is a good mall. The video arca can be busy but the games are good and not to expensive. The mall it’s self is an average amll with a food court and basic stores and teens hang out there. Typical mall. See’s candy, a maternity clothing store, basics like sears and radio shack. Most of the stores are not fancy but to cater to the youth element so it is a good place to shop for teen clothing or for them to hang out. The mall is kept clean and the parking lot seems fairly safe.

There are also slides and regular playground stuff.

Another nice park here called Garin. It is a nature park with great views and photo opportunities. There are some nice trails and it’s a nice but short drive in the hills. There are picnis tables and bar b que pits so it is a fun full day trip. On week days there is a center open which has nice historic displays such as blackmithing and old ranching tools. The garden is an old home from the early 1900’s the cottage is interest but the garden is beautiful and filled with native plants. You can fish here and once a year there is an apple festival. "Marsh park for wildlife viewing"
The shoreline interpretive center is great for kids. They have programs in the building that sets on stilts at the shore. They have exhibits that change from time to time including art work. They also have programs to learn about the wildlife of the shoreline. Including day camps for kids in the summer. You can fish here in certain areas but need a license. There’s a lot of variety of wildlife to see and photograph with the salt and fresh water marshes. The trails are gravel and allow people to take horses on some of them but the gravel is good for a bike ride. There are no picnic tables.

Sulphur Creek Nature Center is great and has a sort of mini zoo of un-releasable local animals like coyotes and falcons also small pet type animals like guinea pigs so that kids can touch them. They have a nice program to teach kids. It’s a great hike along their trail to see the creek and dry areas. There’s shady areas under the trees to rest and you can picnic here too.
There is also san filipe park for picnics right up the street. It has bar b que areas and picnic tables and lots of open lawn plus a kids play area.
Also on D st is Fred's Garage Inc who does a good job with cars and is honest.

This is home to the anthropology museum and near green belt park. They have old masks and dolls and other kinds of art. There is art on the walls and photos of old ruins and relics. There is a lot to see as you walk around even in the halls. They have stuff for kids too. It’s at Meiklejohn Hall but is open for visits from anyone.
The university ball fields are here. Green belt park has some nice hiking trails which go along the creek.
The international house has okay food but it’s not great. Nice selection of things though to please everyone if you are dinning out in a group. It can be a bit busy due to the college crowd.

There’s a picnic area and a bar b que pits. There are restrooms and an indoor area that is mostly for rental for events. The park is busiest in the summer. The pool has lap times and general swim times. There are plenty of trees around for shade.

Atmos theatre is the theater in the woods. It’s a great theater. There are a few stages and areas for performances but one main one. The sitting area is old style wood bleachers for the amphitheater. There’s redwood trees all around and trails through. There’s a pretty creek there too and some of the seating is carved out of stumps. You hike to each performance spot. It’s so fun the show hardly matters but they have great performances and choose interesting plays. But there are no pets allowed. It’s a lovely setting so be sure you take some food and picnic too.

You can register for classes for free but do have to pay to attend. It’s a very relaxing and healing environment and the instructors are friendly and helpful.

WOODSIDE general store dating back too 1854. It’s a cute little building with old country general store set up down stairs and the living space up stairs. It’s set up with all the products that would have been sold in the 1800’s. It’s kind of big for the times and was like a truck stop or wagon stop of the time. There’s a dentist set up and shingle maker too. There are neat old bottles and cans, old lamps and such. It’s considered a park but it’s just the wild land preserved around it. Great place for taking photos, especially black and white.

It’s about the only thing out there other than Edgwood county park. So it is good there is a café on grounds. Pizza California, not to be confused with California pizza kitten, is another good lunch spot. You can get a salad and a slice. Okay it’s a small chain but Mountain Mike's Pizza is the best pizza. I love their Alpine Pizza. I’d never had white sauce pizza before Mountain Mike’s but it is excellent.
Zanotto's Family Market, the whole place is great. The butcher counter is knowledgeable and has great cuts of meat. The bakery is great too with some special treats like the sour dough.

While it seems a bit weird to review the expressway there are some great things with an address on this “street” like the UNWINED Wine Bar and Wine Shop. They have the greatest selections of wines and the bar is nice friendly hang out but with a sophisticated feel. They also have a bit of food.
Then the Bistro has great food and is friendly place to have a meal or get take out. The food is American and unique from a lot of other dinner type places.
Bloomster’s is a great flower shop. They do some great arrangements for special occasions. Very artistic stuff.
The VCA animal hospital is pretty good especially if you have an emergency.

Nola's Iris Garden is here and is a very nice place. The gardens are fantastic and they sell top quality bulbs at just the right time for planting so you can have great flowers of your own too. Alrght the main attraction for me is the San Jose Museum of Art. I love the glass chandeliers and sculptures that are always there. They also have new and different exhibits regularly. There is lots of contemporary art and some mixed media. They have a lot of exhibits to interest kids like one time they had robots so a great way to get kids into art. They even have some art by children on display.
If you want to see some architectural art check out the cathedral. I don’t go to that church but it looks great from an art stand point. Il Fornaio is good Italian with big windows and archways for an airy atmosphere. Also check out McCormics for seafood.

A cool secret place is Papa Joe's - Breakfast Delivery. You can’t beat having your breakfast made and delivered for you on busy days. Their food is fantastic. Okay if you flew into San Francisco then the rental car place here is good and friendly service and a gas station a block away. It is also one of the cheapest places to get your gas. There are some printing shops and they are good to print up calendars for Christmas gifts. I made one of the pets last year. But a real novelty is the motorized bicycle shop. One of my streets reviewed really reviews the great pool they have in this area. Good restaurants and transportation is readily available with BART. Also the great park and rec center.
And of course it boarders Temescal Creek, parts of which are great to visit and scenic though a lot of it also has been built over so you may be better off taking a trip to the lake.
There is also the large Paramount Theater. Aside from the entertainment there is great art inside as well. There is some interesting local culture with the University in the area as well which also makes for some great coffee places. I love Aunt Mary's Cafe.

I love getting fresh ingredients to make things at home. I especially like finding unique ingredients. Hapuku Fish Shop is one of those great places to shop for fresh and unique food. They have the usual plus live crabs, sushi and other shell fish. There are so many fish to choose from for new dishes to make. They also have some fresh cooked foods available. There is also the Pearl Oyster Bar & Restaurant if you do not want to cook but want a great night out on seafood.

HALCYON PARK is a great park for kids. It is huge but had a nice new kids area with climb and play equipment. Bit out of the way from other places I reviewed but is one of if not the best parks. For really young kids there is a good day care that parents talk about.
Another great thing on this street is Ozeki Sushi Teriyaki for sushi and Japanese cuisine. There’s not much to look at but the food is good. I recommend getting it to go and eating it at the park.

I love driving around this area at night to see the deer. It can be starting to see deer grazing on someone's lawn for the first time in a city. There are there because of the wild park area. Hiking around the park is not advised unless you stay on a trail. It can be a bit dangerous as the footing can sometimes be unstable. I don't think I could afford a home here but it is a nice area to visit. It is also not as crowded to visit the park as it is any of the coastal attractions. Hiking up the peeks in summer is hot but worth the view. There is a decent bike trail too.

"It's okay if you have too"
Not sure what to say it's not as bad as the other Euclid but I tried not to go out much around here except to work and back and to get some food. Some nice old trees, so shoot me I do like trees. It feel so sad and hopeless being where there are no trees. The homes are large and old. There are some vacant grassy areas but I guess that is better than standing condemned homes. People who bought the land are hoping it will be worth more later for business instead of homes. There is a home with boarded up windows, okay it may have been leveled and hauled away by now too but it's a good bet there is always at least one around here. It's not bad during the day if you live here but I'd not go out at night, um, unless you enjoy danger and excitement. Not a mixed well neighborhood, okay was trying to be nice it's one race only. There is litter on the street too okay i can't prove this but assume it is still so but heck ther eis litter where I live now too. In that repect people are the same everywhere. Oh there is a factory so you could potentially work and live in the same area, if you want to live there but I forget exactly what

"This street has potential"
There are lots of vacant grassy areas due to stupid investors buying land land not doing anything with it. These sorts of investors can really destroy a neighborhood. So unfortunatly there are some problems such as Graffiti. There are some nice old trees. The homes are large and old. The sidewalks aren't great but are okay. The homes are old and some are getting rebuilt. This area has potential if it keeps up. There's no good drainage on the street though and some areas gather water when it rains.
There is a hotel by the same name as the street. We did a petting zoo for a supermarket for one weekend. It was a nice event but the kids as always, were bit excitable. i mean most were to scared of the animals and acted more like it was haunted house or something.

"A nice street for the area"
Jamieson Elementary School an the street and there are street lights and that makes this a better street than others in the area. There are some nice older trees but vintage homes while looking nice on the outside usually need lots of work inside. I personally like trees as I grew up with a bunch of trees around but I suppose some do not and they could be a danger if they fell on your house. You could always remove any trees in your yard if you get a home here.
The sidewalk is good because of the school and that makes it safer for children and older people. The street is in good condition. The homes are very nice with nice yards. One street parking on one side of the street trash pick up on other side. There is a rescue mission and that is all that most people would care to know about this street but it's not really so bad during the day. The street is near the school. This street isn't perfect but not as bad as some in the area. Two way street with no line dividers. There is on street parking on both sides of the street. The homes look fairly good. Some look great on the outside if you like vintage homes but they tend to all be in need of some serious updating on the inside. They have lawns and some have fences. In other areas there are some businesses there is also the animal shelter. There is a good photo studio where many get their family or senior photos done. there are also place to help if you do get a home to renovate they will remove your rubbish or help with your floors.
I still think the vacant areas are sad and bad for home values and moral but maybe someone will put businesses in soon. One can hope.

Between highway 10 and Parks Rosa boulevard. Near schools. There are lots of empty grassy places due to homes being bought and leveled by investors hoping the land will be worth something later for building on. I would rather see the land used for something now. It really ruins the neighborhood but I guess that's what they want so that they can get the land cheap. There are some trees and some greenery in a few of the yards. Some people do still try. Some houses have fences and most have some sort of lawn or yard. They are okay but the area is not very mixed and not safe at night. Still there is potential as people do still show some care for their homes and yards and neighbors. I suppose kids could play in those grassy areas during the day if supervised and not to littered but such places usually are. Yates park would be a better choice to play.

From highway 10 to Virginia Park Street. Better than others in the area. Comparatively it is a very nice street in the area near Sanders Elementary school which is on this street. It is a single race neighborhood, not mixed at all. So not a place for everyone but nice for those that fit in. Some people work in there yard and have gardens with flowers and plants to make the area look nicer, showing some neighborhood pride. Most homes are kept well and look nice. You know how your neighbor reflects on your own home's value. A few of the homes still need some work. The sidewalk could use some work as well but the street is good. Near Voight park. Runs on both sides of the highway. Also has a small park of it's own. There are some vacant grassy areas. A company is buying old homes up for the land in case they need it but it's not so great for people still living there unless they sell though the vacant areas also lower property values. Parking only on one side of the street. Some windows are boarded over but most are not. The yards are just grass and no flowers or other plants. The food bank is in this area though there are some nice old homes around 1400 block. The homes look alright but nothing special has been done to the yards. Part of the street boarders the historic district. The historic district has homes as old at the early 1900's. This area is nicer due to that but is not indicative of the whole street. Henry Ford used to live on this street at one point. You should look for the old Ford hospital in the historic district.
