"Nothing to do unless you like small parks"
West 52nd starts off at Clinton Park right off the Hudson. The park came into being in the early 20th century and is the basis for the name "Clinton" that people started giving Hell's Kitchen in order to make it sound more appealing. I don't think the name helps much once you actually take a look at the neighborhood, but that's one man's opinion. There are a number of uneventful apartment buildings surrounding the park that go all the way up to 9th. I had an impossible time trying to find one noteworthy thing about any of them so I guess they're all about as boring as they look.
At 9th, there's a pretty popular gay bar (there are actually quite a lot in this neighborhood) called Therapy. It's right next to a depressing looking Howard Johnson's (though they all are); and, I'm sure that just drives the Therapy clientele bonkers. 52nd ends its run through Hell's Kitchen at 8th Avenue and nothing really happens on this street during that run. It's just really boring and kind of sad looking.
