"Prime Retail Boulevard"
Harbor Blvd., talk about prime real-estate from a business owner perspective. The street itself stretches through several cities including Fullerton, Anaheim and Garden Grove. The particular area I find the most appealing is actually in Garden Grove but a drive down Harbor Blvd. any which way is bound to have something that catches your attention. Starting at around Chapman Ave. to just a little beyond Garden Grove Blvd. you can find Target, Mervyn’s, Outback Steakhouse, Joes’ Crab Shack, Red Robbin, fast food chains, banks, grocery stores and more. A personal recommendation for the sushi lover’s, if your ever in this area you should make a pit stop at Tokyo Love. It’s very much a local favorite, unpretentious and inviting. An ode to the city it resides in, the Garden Grove Roll is good to try but the must have, is the cucumber salad. Sweet, tangy, tart, it’s a house specialty and one of my favorites along with the owner and sushi chef, Joe. He’s a character and always willing to mingle with guests and share a few drinks when the time is right. Across the way from Tokyo Love on Harbor Blvd. between Chapman Ave. and Lampson Ave. is one of the best gilatto shops in the city. They’re flavors are unique and change daily so it’s always fun to see what’s on the menu. Make sure to pick a few favorites so your flavor of choice will always be available.
