"A country road with spread out housing"
I live in a subdivision which lies to the east of the Kiowa-Bennett road. This is a two lane, narrow road which you can take from Colfax in town all the way out to Kiowa. Along the stretch there is no real room, but lately there has been an increase in bicycle traffic, which can make for a less than good situation. Many of the homes which are just off of this road have at least five acres of land and many have horses or cows and other farm animals. During the summer it can be a pretty road to drive on with views of the mountains off to the west. In the winter it can look unfriendly (see above photo) and become very icy from the wind blowing. This would be a good road to live off of if you wanted a little land for a few animals, but other than that I wouldn't really recommend it.
Children who live along this road go to the Bennett School District which in my opinion is pretty lousy. They repeatedly rank below average on state standardized testing and regardless of constantly changing principals and other staff there seems to be no improvement in sight. While there aren't any restaurants or even gas stations on this country road, there are some in town. The restaurants are mostly mediocre at best.
