"People talk to each other"

Wellington Rode between Jefferson and rodeo the street is nice. The people talk to you and that's rare in Los Angeles. It has a very nice vibe for families and general community. The street is somewhat tree lined and they still decorate for Christmas. This street is in the middle of two very congested streets, Jefferson and Rodeo. At night it is very quiet and you feel safe.

"Very nice little street"

This street is a very nice walking street. There are home's on this street but very few. Herbert Street is a nice street between nice tree lined streets kind of like the peanut butter and jelly between the bread, a communal area for people who live on the connecting streets to meet and have walks or strolls with their babies.

"Very Nice Ave."

Coolidge is very nice for families and retirees. It is close to Venice beach so it always has a very nice breeze that goes through it. The Avenue is never congested and very safe. To get to the grocery store or many convenient you would walk about a mile or so. But there are some places that are convenient such as a7-11 store, DMV, and a few eateries. But it does not have allot around so it is generally a slower feel on the street. Unless you walk a block east or south, then you’re on main streets.

"Mainly houses but not a good area"

12 th Avenue is mainly homes and is an O.K. place. I'm sure it is over priced for what it's worth. I say that because the area has a high rate of gangs and crime. There are allot of apartments around and so it can be very congested and the streets are always lined with cars and you will have to get use to helicopters and cop vehicles driving by. Some may think having so many cops around the area would be very safe....think again not a good place for kids at all, even though there are many kids. It's just a big crap shot.

"No good between adams and jefferson"

Big gang area, not a good place to be at all. There are allot of gang bangers and drug dealers in this small area. But I know the rents cheap if you dare. There are allot of cheap eats around the area and close to allot of essential things such as the grocery store, gas station, mall, hospital and other things. The area is very cultural especially on specific days. The area is very urban and fun. But Norton Ave. is no place to be.

"I love venice"

Venice blvd towards Venice beach is a great drive. On a clear sunny day it is one of the best stress relievers, to drive down to Venice beach on Venice blvd and take a walk on the board walk. Venice Blvd has allot of little shops you will not see anywhere else.

"Short pass from south LA to West LA"

This street covers a short distance between Crenshaw and La Cienega usually very fast not as many stop lights as on Adams. The Treasure hunt store is on La Bra and rodeo and that is a rare store to see now and days. Rodeo Rd. not to be confused with Rodeo Dr. (no where near the same at all). Fast street to take.

"Great City Life experience"

Wilshire blvd is probably the worst place to drive. I use to work in this area and I would get petrified driving there. At least 3 times a week while at work I heard eeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr "BANG". There was always an accident. The food was interesting. I fell in love with bulgogi and boba. Great food, bad traffic and then there’s the Wiltern. It was a very fast paced area which I liked. There is allot of walking which I also enjoyed. Parking is expensive and hard to fine and the meter maids do not rest for a minute. So always put extra in the meter.

"Nice street in one way"

This is one of the nicest streets I have lived on in one sense. It was very quiet and nice, on one side there are apartments and on the other side there are houses, this posed a problem some times. People in houses seemed uneasy with the apartments. I guess they felt it brought down their property value and general atmosphere. Some of the people were a bit ...I don't know how to put it, Not the best place for ethnic people but a safe place to live. Unfortunately I would clump majority of Culver City that way. Generally a great place to live considering other areas. I ranked it high mainly for people who want to go about their business and not be too involved with neighborhood activities or greetings. If you’re looking for a neighborhood that is very involved then I would say, that would be achieved better through ownership then renting. But there are neighborhoods were renters are very involved. I lived there around the late 90's.

"Nice area = $$$$"

This was a nice area to live in. There are allot of animal owners in the neighborhood specifically dogs so you may meet new people or dogs while taking them for a walk. Very nice street with trees and good atmosphere. The area was decently priced and then once the house market boomed it jumped through the roof we could have stayed, but we were worried if it would keep jumping (there is no rent control). There is a liquor store at the corner but it does not bring down the quality of the neighborhood. The apartment I lived in did have some brake ins’ with cars usually around big holiday's 4th of July etc....So if you’re looking at apartments in this area make sure the place has good cameras and security for your parking. The apartment I lived in was at the corner, if you look for apartments I would stick to non corner apartments.

"Not the best place"

The street is bad, there are junkies and allot of drugs and drug dealings and apparently gangs are now there. The neighbor hood is sort of like the television show "The Wire" unfortunately. Baltimore has one of the highest homicide rates in the nation. I have not been there lately. There is another show called "Ace of Cakes" that’s shows some positive things about Baltimore and the crab cakes. I visited once and I would be O.k. not going back.

"Everyones in a hurry"

Crenshaw Blvd has some nice places to stop at such as Macy's African American mini museum, Lemert Park Sunday’s drum session, Creole cafe in the mall area on top "great food" but because of unfortunate events may never open again..Very sad they had the best bread pudding. It seems to me that during the day is when it can get a little crazy. There are always allot of police waiting in various locations after speaking to one they said they have police officers specifically for the area because of so many accidents. I enjoy Crenshaw they have a actual free standing crispy crème’s I don't frequent the place that much but I have not seen one any where else in surrounding areas. Also the wing stop has decent wings. There are allot of food places on Crenshaw. And I’m mainly referring to Crenshaw in between Adams and Stocker. I would not like on Crenshaw but it is usually action packed.

"good for city drive"

I take overland Avenue to get to the mall or school. It is a very busy street during the day and has many different eateries along its route. It could take you from UCLA to the fox hills mall. Overland goes through two cities Culver City and West Los Angeles. The transportation is very fast on the green bus for Culver City.

"No No No No No"

This street has so many dealers on the corner the police just drive by them, I can not tell you how many times I have seen someone strung out on whatever all on the side walk or the alley. This street is the worst. The 3 years I was there the bank 3 blocks away and the other bank 7 blocks away both were robbed and at one of the banks the security guard was shoot and died he was apparently getting ready to leave that bank because he said it was getting to bad. The street has been blocked off on more then 3 occasions because of shoots or chasing someone or something. Every night it was like the beginning of MASH, you hear helicopters and sometimes they get so close you’d have to raise your voice over them. There was a complex for sale on the street, I looked at it and it had gang signs and gang's names in the closet (you'd think the realtor would have covered that) but you can cover the outside. I gave it a high mark on transportation because my car was acting badly so I decided to take the bus to school and it was a good experience as far as how close it was and how fast it was. There is allot of cheap crap food around such as McDonalds, pizza hut , taco bell, el pollo loco, yoshinoya and little ceaser's. There is also a BBQ place and a 99 cent soul food buffet (interesting experience). I would recommend this place for people who do not plan to live here long and stay in the house and only go out when necessary. I don't want to panic anyone it's just not a good neighborhood.

"Not the first place to choose"

I have lived there and it’s neither the best place nor the worst place to live. You’re in between a very nice neighbor hood "Beverly wood" and busy La Cienege. There are little taco restaurants and a shopping center in walking distance. The one thing I did enjoy was the gym there it was nice and the circuit city (which is no more). There is also a toys r us if you have children and a my gym. The shopping center also has a fantastic Sam’s and Togos. There are a few other things there. I enjoyed the walk. The street is not what it used to be I drive by and see allot of homes under construction and apartment managers finally cleaning up the appearance of there units, so it's changing. Ever so often you hear the cops flying above and there was a shooting in my apartments and a cop chasing on the roof but that was over 7 years ago. Now it seems like it is better. The actual street is nice in the day it's not junky until you walk far down and get under the freeway. I had a patio and enjoyed the day walking to the shopping center or hanging out on the patio. The street is a working class type of street. People don't speak (which is typical for Los Angeles) they have somewhere to go and so do you, It's not friendly but it's not mean at all it is Los Angeles.
