46th Ave
"One of the Avenues"
46th Ave. is a street that runs through the Richmond and the Sunset. It is mostly a residential street. It is not a very busy street itself, but runs by many busy and popular streets. It is generally pretty quiet and peaceful. It is very safe throughout the street. There are many restaurants and stores near it on streets like Irving and Taraval. There is access to many muni buses like the 29, N, and 18, which runs mostly on this street. 46th Ave would be a very nice place to live in San Francisco

"46th Ave - Typical street, but still pretty neat."
46th Avenue is a little more atypical than most of the avenues in the Sunset and Richmond District, simply because the 18 bus line runs on it in the Sunset. Most of the buses in the Sunset tend to run on the major streets instead of the avenues. Other than that, the architecture of the houses is similar to those in the surrounding area. 46th Avenue is two blocks away from the Great Highway and the beach, so it is fairly common to see skateboarders, joggers, and people walking their dogs in the area. Although it is fairly quiet, you can still hear the buses, especially once you hit Taraval Street onward to Sloat, because the L-line makes a turn there just before going up Taraval. In general, this is a nice avenue to live on because transportation is very easy, with the bus lines N, 71, L, 18, etc. all located conveniently near 46th avenue. My father used to tell me that some of the houses on 46th avenue are not quite level due to the 1989 earthquake, but I cannot tell personally. Parking is surprisingly convenient. Overall, this is a nice avenue for families to raise children, or if you would just like to take a nice stroll with the breeze blowing in through your hair.

"Great Street, main attration would be the bus"
46th ave runs horizontally parallel to the beach in the outer sunset. The 18 bus line runs directly on it, providing great transportation between the Lake Merced area, the Sunset area, and the Richmond area. The bus starts at the Legion of Honor (a museum), and goes down the Stonestown Galleria, a mall. It is very convenient, especially for me, because I am a golfer and I can use the bus to fo to Lincoln GC, Harding GC, and the Olympic Club, where I work. The 46th ave itself is pretty boring, mostly residential.

46th Ave
"Good street to travel between the sunset and richnmond districts."
This street runs through two districts. The sunset and the Richmond district. A majority of it however is on the sunset side. It crosses many Muni lines. For the Richmond district on Geary it crosses the 38/18 and on Fulton it crosses the 5. In the sunset district it crosses the N line on juDah and the L on Taravel. A great bus that runs along 46th ave. on the sunset side is the 18 line. This line will take you everywhere from Stonestown, to the zoo, and to the cliff house. On the sunset side, 46th ave. is located 3 blocks from ocean beach making it great spot for surfers or beach lovers. the houses in this area are moderately priced however once you reach the Richmond district, the houses on 46th go up in price. A great restaurant located on 46th and Judah is Thanh Long which is famous for it’s great crabs. Right across the street from the restaurant is a 7/11. Overall this street is a good street to live nearby because it connects you to the rest of the city with its variety of transportation options.

"46th Avenue, a residential area with great transportation."
46th Avenue is typically a residential neighborhood. Occasionally you will hear a bus or train zipping by as 46th Avenue is home to the 18 Muni bus and the L (Taraval) train. Both the 18 bus and L train make great transportation as the 18 will take you all the way to Stonestown (A great shopping center for you money spenders!) and the L train will take you all the way Downtown (Another great shopping center!). There are a few restaurants as you pass by Judah Street, Noriega Street, and Taraval Street. In the Richmond District, you’ll see a few restaurants as well if you keep your eyes peeled. One thing you may find exciting about 46th Avenue is that the beach is so close by! As you go down 46th Avenue, you’ll reach the San Francisco Zoo and Golden Gate Park the other way.

46th Ave
"3 blocks from the beach running through both the Sunset and the Richmond Districts."
46th avenue is a great street to live on. It runs close to the beach through both the sunset and Richmond districts. Housing styles range slightly within the neighborhoods. Apartments, houses and condos are all available. The most exciting aspect about being on this street is definitely the fact that Ocean Beach is so close. This street is a typical numbered avenue; the houses and neighborhood’s attitude are basically the same in whatever area you are in. This street also crosses big streets with bus lines that can take you almost anywhere, like Judah, Lincoln, Clement, California, Geary, Taraval and more. 46th avenue is a straight shot all the way down, excluding the detour to get through Golden Gate Park which you will need to get onto the Great Highway or 41st avenue to cross the park. 46th avenue also takes you down to the entrance of the San Francisco Zoo.

"Close to muni, the beach, and Sloat"
This street is a great residential part of town. The L-Taraval line is right there. Sloat Blvd makes it easy to get east/west and Sunset Ave makes it easy to get north/south. Of course, being 2 blocks from the beach is really cool if you like that sort of thing. As it is a very residential part of town, there isn't any night life at all. However, there are actually more places to eat than you would expect. The Bashful Bull too is right there if you're looking for diner food. Also, Brother's pizza and North Beach Pizza on Taraval are just a few blocks away. Finally Wyn's chinese food is close by as is Thanh Long for when it's crab season.
