Masonic Ave
"Great place to find food/shopping"
I regard Masonic as my passage way to many parts of the city. The 43 runs on Masonic and it can bring you to many places. Usually I take it down to Haight street where there are a lot of shops and dining, otherwise there really isn’t much on Masonic. There are scattered stores here and there, but if I were to look for shopping, I’d look elsewhere.
Masonic Ave
"Large street with both living and retail"
Masonic Avenue is a large street that runs through Golden Gate Park. It has lots of small stores as well as big named stores. There is a large shopping complex located on Masonic and Geary. It has stores like Mervyn's, Best Buy, Subway, Taco Bell, and Office Max. Kitty corner to this shopping complex is a small diner called the Lucky Penny and next door to that is the very popular Trader Joe's. Because one of the most convenient locations of the popular store, Trader Joe's, it is usually really backed up due to overflow in the Trader Joe's parking lot. Masonic avenue runs along USF, you can see its large baseball field from the street. I personally wouldn’t want to live on this street. It is very busy and loud. There is a bus line that runs along it and it always has cars on it. And most of the people who live here are college students because there are mostly apartments and condos.

Masonic Ave
"A great shopping center close to home!!!"
Masonic street is a great place for a place with great shopping. At the Masonic Shopping Center, the stores include; Best Buys, Mervyn’s, Subway, etc. On the other side of the street, there is a Trader’s Joe that is very big. And tell the truth, who doesn’t like a good organic grocery store close to home. Just like other streets in San Francisco, they are always busy with both students going to and from school and cars waiting for the stop light all day. If anyone just wants to get some organic foods or buy some electronics, Masonic street is a definite place to come to.

Masonic Ave
"Little Bit of This, Little Bit of That"
Masonic intersects Haight, so on that end, the street is pretty colorful. There aren't a whole lot of stores on Masonic, but there are a few at its crossing with Haight. North of Haight, Masonic gets less exciting. However, if you drive up far enough (just past Geary), you'll find a Trader Joe's...possibly the highlight of the entire street. This TJ's is ALWAYS busy. There is also a pretty bizarre but useful shopping center on Masonic that houses as Best Buy, Mervyn's, Office Max and more. There used to be a Toys R Us, which was great for families, but it went out of business. Bummer.

Masonic Ave
"Big street with lots of stores!"
Masonic Street is a big street that is mainly known for its retail. Although Masonic is pretty long and there are various sections, it is mainly known for the area from Masonic and Geary to Masonic and Fell. In this part of the street, there is a Lucky Grocery Store, Toys-R-Us, BestBuy, and various restaurants. Masonic and Geary boasts a very impressive shopping complex that has lots of different stores.
In addition to stores, University of San Francisco owns a lot of buildings on Masonic including the USF baseball field. The location of Masonic Street is very popular because of its short drive or bus ride downtown. There is housing on Masonic, but it’s mainly consists of apartments. The housing tends to be a little older and old-school San Francisco style housing.
My father lived on Masonic while he was attending USF and said he loved it. Although, I have never lived there, it seems to be a very good place to live as its close to downtown and all the action but still far away from any intolerable noise!
