Washington St
"Washington St drag"
Washington st is a main st connecting Hillcrest and Mission Hills. Here you will find the best pizza in san diego at Bronx Pizza. There is also Ichiban and Sushi deli for Japanese. There are some gay bars along the way as well, as Hillcrest is a predominantly gay neighborhood. This is a very lively street and it is getting more and more ritzy as the years go by.

Adams Ave
"Cute Antique type strip in Normal Heights"
There are lots of Antique shops going down Adams ave. in Normal Heights. This is a rather long street going from Normal Heights to kensington. Along the way is the vegetarian restaraunt Jhodi Bihanga (spell?) and the old movie theatre Landmarks' Ken. There is also kensington video which has every film you could ever possibly think of renting. This street has tons of character.

Park Boulevard runs through San Diego's famous Balboa Park. It is a beautiful place to see Old mission architecture and to visit some of San Diego's museums. It is the main cultural center in san diego. Because the weather is always lovely you will find lots of people biking and flying kites. This is a great place to bring the kids.

Garnet Ave
"BEACH BUMS GALORE"
The vibe on this street is very young, mostly college freshman types who love to surf and drink. There are tons of raucous pubs and bars. In the side streets you may find some nicer laid back cafe's for when the students and sobered up and need to actually study, but watch out because at night it is a very crazy environment.

"Washington Heights decadent."
This is a very steep little street with beautiful homes that have been skyrocketing in market value in recent years. At the top of this street there is a mansion with a beautifully landscaped topiary. It is very quiet, yet located very close to downtown san diego and to hillcrest. It is an easy walk to Gelato Vero cafe and Saffron Thai food.

Cam Santa Fe
"Busy Commter st"
Miramar Road is named Miramar because the entrance to the Miramar Air Base is located on this st. The street spans 6 lanes and is quiet trafficky. It connects the neighborhoods of Scrips ranch and mira mesa to La Jolla and University City. Many people commute along this route to work or to Westfield shopping center at UTC. Also, many college kids commute to UC San diego along this route.

This st is a busy commuter street in Mira Mesa. Mira Mesa was originally designed as a business area, but so many commuters now reside in the area that it has become insanely overcrowded. Mira Mesa Blvd is often bumper to bumper with residents during rush hour. The neighborhood suffers because of this and it is not a quiet and peaceful environment at all.

"A Hillcrest Haven"
The area of 8th avenue I am reviewing is in Hillcrest. I lived right next to Chipotle at the corner of 8th and university for 3 years. This is a very noisy neighborhood and there is a bit of seediness on 8th avenue in particular because there are some cheaper living establishments such as the friendship hotel. However in recent years they have also built some fancy condos on this block which have cleaned things up, though made them a bit more yuppy.

There is tons to do and you can walk around. Parking is difficult. Also nearby is the downtown library.
